We went to Alpena, MI. What's in Alpena you may ask? Or as my husband said "there is nothing in Alpena" My nephew, Geoffrey, is a part of an organization call the Civil Air Patrol. He went to a week Encampment which ends with a parade and graduation. CAP has a long history with the military and the Air Force in particular. Geoffrey's week consisted of getting up at 5:30 am to run 2 miles, lots of marching, learning how to make his bed and lot of other crazy things. But he loved it. I am so proud of him. He is becoming such handsome and confident young man.
While in Alpena we explored the area, a few lighthouses on Lake Huron, a fun winery, took Maggie swimming for the first time and just tried to relax for a few days. We had a good time, with the exception of a 3 month old who doesn't want to sleep in the car. Kind of like her mother :)
