Update!

As some of you already know (from Facebook or conversations with us) Mark and I are expecting a little baby Clover in May. We are so excited!

We had an ultrasound the end of September at 7 weeks. Everything looked good.

About 3 days after the ultrasound I got extremely sick. I thought is was just the flu or I ate something wrong. I had been feeling really good up to that point. After 2 days of keeping nothing down, I called the doctor. They diagnosed me with something called Hyperemesis. That is basically really bad morning sickness all day.

I am starting to keep some food and liquid down but it is a very small amount. I have been on IV liquids at home since that first week and that seems to help and well as Zofran. I also had to have a PICC placed due to the fact that I have no veins in my arms or hands, so getting the liquids in is definitely a chore. A PICC is a peripherally inserted central catheter that is placed in the arm. It can stay in for an extended period of time without having to be moved. Or so we've been told.

Hyperemesis generally lasts between 12-16 weeks. It affects about 1 in 200 women. I am currently 10 weeks so we are hoping in a few weeks things start to improve.
