Do you have have a just amazing weekend? The right mix between busy and slow. Hanging out with fun people and eating good food. That is the weekend Mark and I had.
Our friends Erik & Suzanne came in from Chicago came in on Friday night and are staying at the house. Our first official house guest! We had people here during the wedding, but I'm not counting that since I wasn't really living here.
Friday night we saw this movie at the $3.99 theatre. Love it. Such a cheap date. We have the popcorn bucket which we can refill for free and we got a free frozen pop which Mark's movie card. So $7.98 for a movie, popcorn and pop. And the movie was AWESOME. Many of you know I come from a family of history buffs so all the different historical figures are fun and I also love the Smithsonian so it's kind of 2 ties the 2 worlds together. A must see. Put we'll probably buy it so if you want to borrow it, let me know :)
Saturday was . . . wait for it . . . Byron Days. Saturday morning is the pancake breakfast and parade. Mark and I went with my parent and the hooligans. So much candy, so little time. It was really cold but we still had an great time. It took Emily about 3/4 of the parade to warm up to the idea of getting candy, but once she did it was get out of the way. At night is the fireworks. For many years Byron didn't do them so it's fun to have them back. There is lots going on in between the 2 as well. Food, Crafts, Games and Byron Idol.
Today was a relaxing day. Mark and I had Little Blessings at church. Always entertaining.
Then we had lunch with the Sanchez's and Robyn. The rest of the day consisted of MASH(in Spanish with English subtitles), catching up with Robyn after her road trip, napping, and of course good food. I think it's the kind of day God intented. Relaxing, away from all the daily stress with time to focus on Him and our family and friends.
